Bogalusa’s Lady Jacks won their game Thursday in the Hannan Hustle Basketball Tournament while Varnado lost both of its games at the tournament. Tournament games were held at Archbishop Hannan and the Coquille Parks and Recreation Gym.

Bogalusa defeated Varnado, 49-35.

Diamond Martin led all scorers with 15 points. She also hit a 3-pointer.

Lulu Ball posted 10.

Asia Nelson and Dinasia Harris recorded six points while Bianca Pittman had five, Deranique Lee finished with four and Kennedy Robertson added three in the win.

Quierra Bickham was Varnado’s leading scorer with 12 points and she blocked a shot. Jaden Foster tallied 10 points and a block.

Also for the Lady Wildcats, Jamonica Dillon recorded six points while Asia Rhines posted four and Brittany Smith added three.

Varnado’s second game Thursday was a 33-17 loss to Lakeshore.

Bickham recorded six points and blocked a shot.

Destiny Keys had five points and two blocks while Foster posted four points and a block and Dillon put up two points and a block.

Bogalusa played once more in the tournament, after Friday’s press time.

Varnado opened District 8-1A play Friday at Houma Christian.
