Franklinton went 1-2 in the Lakeshore Titans Thanksgiving Basketball Classic 2016, which took place Nov. 21-23.

Raisean Hart was named to the All-Tournament Team for the Demons.

Franklinton lost its opening game of the event 58-52 to Fontainebleau on Monday, Nov. 21.

The second contest was a 40-38 victory over Northshore in a game that came down to the wire.

The contest was tied at 38-38 late in the fourth quarter.

Franklinton went in front when Darius Dawson threw a no-look pass from one side of the lane to the other to Sam Smith.

Smith then hit a layup to give his team a 40-38 lead with about 20 seconds left.

The Demons relied on their defense to finish off the victory and it delivered by forcing a pair of turnovers to seal the win.

The final game, which was last Wednesday, was a 50-39 setback to Slidell.

Franklinton is playing in the final day of its school tournament today. The Demons play the final game of a quadruple-header against Varnado with tipoff set for 7:40 p.m.

The first game today features Franklinton’s girls against Varnado at 3:30 p.m., followed by Bogalusa and Pine boys at 4:50 p.m. Bogalusa and Pine’s girls are the third game at 6:10 p.m. with Franklinton-Varnado boys capping things off.
