KINDER — The Kinder Yellow Jackets offense went wild in the third quarter after a sluggish first half in taking a 51-0 win over the Pine Raiders in the Class 2A regional round of the playoffs. They will now travel to face Sterlington next week in the Class 2A quarterfinals.

The Yellow Jackets defense dominated all night as they limited the Raiders offense to only 90 yards of offense and only five first downs the entire game.

“The defense had a special performance tonight,” said Kinder coach Bret Fuselier. “Against a team like Pine with the size they had up front and we basically took their running game away as it was a non-factor tonight.”

Kinder finished the game with 216 rushing yards and 106 passing yards. Taylor Johnson led the way on the ground with 164 yards on 23 carries and scored four touchdowns. Trent Johnson finished the game with by going for 4 for 9 in the passing game with 102 passing yards and two touchdowns.

Pine was limited to only 90 yards of offense, all coming in the running game. Jakyran Handy led the way with 12 carries for 38 yards.

The Raiders finished the season with a record of 7-4.
