Order of Eastern Star selling cookbook

The Order of the Eastern Star No. 239 has published a cookbook titled “Favorite Recipes of the Eastern Star” to benefit the American Heart Association, cancer, Shriner’s Hospital, regenerative medicine, support our first responders and the community.

The book can be purchased at Nelson’s Drugs and Main Street Grocery beginning Tuesday, Nov. 1. It costs $20.

Members of the Eastern Star Pushepatapa Chapter 239, friends and family have compiled their tastiest tried-and-true recipes into a single book that will be treasured for generations to come. This cookbook contains 403 recipes — everything you need from appetizers to desserts. Each recipe includes the contributor’s name, so it is easy to find the recipes of friends and loved ones.

The cookbook is dedicated in memory of Leroy “Slick” Seal who was instrumental in organizing the Pushepatapa Chapter in 1964. The cookbook includes lots of pages of cooking tips and helpful hints for great dishes.
