The Bogalusa-based Open Road Cruisers will host their seventh annual car show Saturday.

Jeff Sharp, president of the car club, said the shows are held as fundraisers each year, and the group donates all proceeds to either someone in need or a nonprofit. This year, Sharp said the group is raising money for Rusty Stewart, who is getting cancer treatment.

Sharp said he believes the show will have a good turnout.

“We’re hoping for 100 cars or better,” he said. “We’ll have food and drinks and music and raffles and all kinds of stuff.”

Sharp said the show is open to any type of automobile.

“It’s an open show, so we don’t discriminate. It’ll be classics or anything you got. But it’s mostly for classic cars, antiques and hot rods and things like that,” Sharp said.

The show will begin at 9 a.m. and run to 2 p.m. on the 400 block of Columbia Street.

There will be awards for hotrods, cars, trucks and bikes and registration is $25 per vehicle.

In addition, visitors will be able to enjoy a variety of other things besides cars.

“We serve jambalaya dinners, chili buns, sno-balls and then we do a big raffle,” he said. “We also have a bunch of smaller items and door prizes for the entry vehicles. Hopefully we’ll have a good time and a good day.”
