Franklinton takes to the field tomorrow night, as the Demons are at home scrimmaging Slidell.
The freshmen begin at 5 p.m. with varsity to follow.
Franklinton first-year coach Steve Burris said the team is looking to see where they are scheme-wise, and talked about other things he’s looking for this week.
“We’ve got positions with kids that haven’t been in game situations yet and we’ve got competitions for positions,” Burris said. “We get to see our special teams live for the first time.”
Burris said the scrimmage also will provide the coaches with game film of their team.
“It’s always easier to evaluate by film,” Burris said.
The teams will run a number of series of plays with special teams being mixed in.
Last year, Franklinton reached the Class 4A semifinals.
The Demons will then turn their attention to the jamboree game, which is Friday, Aug. 26, at Mandeville.
