Saskatchewan’s Otha Foster III made some strong contributions for the Roughriders last Saturday, but the team lost 40-27 to the British Columbia (BC) Lions at home in a Canadian Football League game.

The 2006 Varnado High School graduate, who plays linebacker, had a defensive tackle, recorded a sack and forced a fumble.

In three games this year, Foster has six defensive tackles, two special teams tackles, a sack and a forced fumble.

Foster forced the fumble on the sack, which was recovered by     Knox Jr., getting the ball back for the Roughriders.

The tackle was separate of the sack.

Saskatchewan jumped out to a 23-10 lead at halftime, but the Lions outscored them 9-0 in the third, trimming the deficit to 23-19 through three.

In the fourth quarter, BC took the lead 26-23, but the Roughriders tied things at 26-26 on a 32-yard field goal by Tyler Crapigna. BC went in front for good 33-26.

The Roughriders got it to 33-27 on a 1-pointer, but could get no closer.

Saskatchewan is 0-3 this season. The team is back in action tonight at home against Ottawa, who comes in with a 3-0-1 record.
