Franklinton was victorious in both games of the Mandeville Summer Basketball League Thursday with wins over Bay High and Pearl River at Mandeville High.

“Best games we’ve played this summer,” Franklinton coach Brad Oestriecher said.  “We were engaged and aggressive on defense and executed offensively.”

The Demons won the first contest 52-41 over Bay High.

T.Y. Pope led Franklinton with 19 points. Darrius Dawson scored 16 and Sam Smith posted eight for the Demons.

The second game was a 54-46 victory over Pearl River in a balanced scoring attack.

Four players reached the double figure plateau.

Pope was Franklinton’s leading scorer once again. He tallied 13 points.

Dawson was second with 12 while Raisean Hart and Sam Smith scored 11 each.

Franklinton is back in action Tuesday at St. Paul’s with games scheduled against both St. Paul’s teams.
