Franklinton wins both games against Loranger

Franklinton was victorious over Loranger, 12-2 and 11-0, respectively, in Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s District 8-4A contests.

The Demons won Tuesday’s road game in six innings and had 12 hits.

Jamarian Crain, Wyatt Verret, Tanner Sanburn and J.J. Jackson had two hits each in a balanced hitting attack.

Crain scored two runs and drove in one. Verret tallied twice and had two RBIs. Sanburn had three runs scored and three RBIs and Jackson doubled, scored twice and drove in two.

C.J. Estave, Mack McElveen, Zack Bell and Caleb McKenzie posted one hit each. Estave scored a run, McElveen drove one home, Bell scored a run and had an RBI and McKenzie had an RBI.

Collin Dominguez also scored a run for Franklinton.

McElveen had a solid performance on the mound. He threw five shutout innings, allowing three hits with seven strikeouts and a walk.

On Wednesday, the team celebrated Senior Night and won the game in five innings.

Franklinton honored its seniors — Estave, McElveen, Sanburn, Bell, McKenzie and Austin Miller.

The Demons scored in all four innings they batted and recorded eight hits, led by Dominguez’ three hits. Dominguez also drove in three runs and scored twice.

Crain, Estave, McElveen, Sanburn and McKenzie all had one.

Crain scored two runs, Estave doubled, scored twice and drove in two, McElveen scored two runs, Sanburn tallied once and had two RBIs and McKenzie scored a run.

Verret logged a run in the win.

McKenzie started and pitched four shutout innings for the win. McKenzie allowed just one hit with six strikeouts and a walk.

Franklinton is 13-8 overall and finishes district with a 6-2 record.
