Franklinton’s Delatte runs 4th, 5th in hurdle events at Covington High

Franklinton’s Porsha Delatte finished in the top five in the two hurdles events at the Covington High Allie Smith Invitational.
Delatte was fourth in the 100-meter hurdles (16.55 seconds) and fifth in the 300s (51.74).
Track MVP Brentney Carroll of Slidell captured both events — the 100 in 14.62 and the 300 at 47.1.
Danaria Magee was seventh in the javelin (83 feet, 6 inches) and Hayle Davidson finished 13th (55-5). Field MVP Samantha Zelden of St. Scholastica Academy threw a 139-1 for the victory.
Tellise Magee was seventh in the 200 (28.68), as Slidell’s Chelsea Harrington won the race in 25.81.
The Lady Demons were in a pair of relays and were seventh for both — the 4×100 (54.12) and 4×200 (1:55).
The 4×100 team featured Delatte, Jada Thompson, Jayln Bickham and Tellise Magee. The 4×200 squad had Delatte, Bickham, India Dickerson and Tellise Magee. Slidell won both events, finishing the 4×100 in 49.6 and the 4×200 at 1:43.
Thompson (14.44) and Tellise Magee (14.97) ran 13th and 16th for the 100, as Slidell’s Lauren West was victorious in 12.38.
Deja Conerly (30.51) was 15th for the 200.
Drahcir Magee (1:14) and Cyna Hart (1:30) took 12th and 13th during the 400, as Slidell’s Kayla Wilson won the event in 58.82.
Rockelle Bryant (3:02) and Mattie Williams (3:31) were 14th and 18th for the 800. St. Thomas Aquinas’ Meghan Becerra topped the event in 2:23.
Bryant (7:15) finished 19th for the 1,600. Fontainebleau’s Paige Anderson won with a time of 5:45.
Kaitlyn Boughton (11-9.5) was 21st in the long jump, as West was victorious at 18-0.
Marlaysia Robertson (25-1.5) and Danaria Magee (21-10) tallied finishes of 18 and 20 in the shot put, as Salmen’s Taysia Colmen bested the event at 33-0.
Boughton (59-0) and Danaria Magee (41-3) were 20th and 21st in the discus, as Zelden was the winner with a distance of 114-1.
