Franklinton tallies 1-2 record in Live Oak Tournament

Franklinton’s Lady Demons finished with a 1-2 record in the Live Oak Tournament, which took place Friday and Saturday.

The Lady Demons began the event with a 10-0 loss to Hammond in five innings.

Franklinton had just one hit, which was a single by Stephanie Crowe.

The Lady Demons played two games Saturday and split those contests.

They won the first game, 11-4, over Loranger.

Franklinton pounded out 11 hits in the victory, led by Madison LaSalle, who went 3-for-5. LaSalle drove in two runs and scored once.

Anna Miley and Morgan Stafford had two hits, two RBIs and scored a run each. One of Stafford’s hits was a triple.

Alaina Fussell singled twice and drove in a run.

Lexi Williams and Alyssa Menard both singled twice. Williams scored twice and drove in a run while Menard had an RBI.

Deja Long scored two runs for the Lady Demons while Bethany Sandifer, Bailey Spears, Laynea Stafford and Crowe scored one run each.

Winning pitcher Miley allowed two earned runs on seven hits with six strikeouts and just two walks in a complete-game performance.

Franklinton jumped out to a 3-0 lead through two innings, but Loranger scored a run in the third and three more in the fifth to go in front, 4-3.

The Lady Demons responded in the bottom of the fifth with six runs to go back ahead, 9-4. Franklinton added two more runs in the sixth to cap the scoring at 11-4.

The final game was a 15-0 setback to Doyle in four innings.

Franklinton had four hits on singles by Sandifer, Crowe, Fussell and Menard.

Ten Lady Demons’ errors led to nine unearned runs in the loss.
