Ragin’ Cajuns advance to the WBI Finals

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns are in the title game of the Women’s Basketball Invitational for the second-consecutive year.

The top-seeded Ragin’ Cajuns were victorious over second-seeded Youngstown State, 69-49, Wednesday night at the Cajundome.

Louisiana led 21-17 after the first quarter and extended the advantage to 38-33 by halftime. The Ragin’ Cajuns upped the lead to 51-39 through three after outscoring Youngstown State, 13-6, in the third before going on to the 20-point win.

Gabby Alexander, a 2013 Bogalusa High School graduate, grabbed two rebounds in four minutes.

Louisiana will go for the title today against seventh-seeded Weber State at 4 p.m. at the Earl K. Long Gym.
