Pine’s Brown named District 10-2A MVP

Pine’s Breyanna Brown was selected as the District 10-2A Most Valuable Player and several other Lady Raiders were named all-district players.
This season, Pine reached the playoffs as the No. 20 seed, but lost to Lakeview, 56-36, in the opening round. Lakeview lost in the next round to fourth-seeded Red River, 68-37.
The Lady Raiders won the regular season league title, but lost in the title game of the district tournament to Archbishop Hannan.
Joining Brown on the first team is teammate Nyxavion Robertson.
Pine had one player make the second team in Laken Breedlove.
A trio of Lady Raiders are all-district honorable mention players including Bethany McGinnis, Hannah Ard and Savannah Kennedy.
Archbishop Hannan had two players reach the first team in Kennedy Martin and Miranda Kramer. Hannan reached the regional round as the No. 17 seed, but lost to eventual state champion and top-seeded North Caddo, 77-44.
Northlake Christian School’s Kyren Whittington is a first-team player. The Lady Wolverines lost in the opening round of the postseason, as the 31st seed to No. 2 St. Thomas Aquinas, 75-31.
Pope John Paul II’s Jessica Feraci rounds out the top team.
The rest of the second team has Northlake Christian teammates Kaitlynn Walker and KeraGrace Watts along with Hannan teammates Julia Fecke and tournament MVP Mallory Kramer.
Besides the three Pine players, the rest of the honorable mention players are Hannan’s Amieé Guillot, Pope John Paul II teammates McCabe Shifflett and Claudia Clavier and Northlake Christian’s Hannan Watts and Ally Reynolds.
Hannan’s Karen Davis was named the district’s Coach of the Year.
