Pine golfers tie for 3rd

Pine’s Tanner McKenzie and Brent Barber tied for third place at Oak Harbor Golf Club in Slidell on Wednesday.
Tanner McKenzie and Brent Barber both shot a 47 to tie for the third spot, as the 14 golfers played nine holes.
The two finished five strokes out of first place.
Pope John Paul II’s Zach Barrios posted a 42 for the top spot.
He won by a pair of strokes over Pope John Paul II’s Kade Dixon.
Pope John Paul II’s Jack Legnon posted a 51 for a fifth-place finish.
PJP captured team honors with a 196, as the top four golfers’ rounds from each squad are used to determine team scores.
Just two girls, both from Springfield, participated.
Charley Shaffer won the individual competition with a 67.
She won by three strokes over Shelby Chandler and the team posted a 137.
