Franklinton’s girls tennis team was victorious over Covington and the boys were edged by the Lions in Tuesday’s matches held at FHS.

The Lady Demons captured the two matches that were played and had three wins by forfeit.

Ashton Keaton won in straight sets over Allie Guidry, 6-0, 6-0.

In doubles, Cassidy Stewart/Alyssa Sullivan defeated Carlie Dawson/Hannah Rogers, 6-2, 6-3.

Abby McNeal won her singles match by forfeit and the doubles teams of Meredith McCullough/Mackenzie Angelo and Ladaija Brumfield/Morgan Mills won their matches by forfeit.

The boys lost to Covington, 2-1.

Franklinton’s Nathan Ackerman captured his singles match over Keaton Pierson in a tiebreaker, 3-6, 7-6, 10-8.

In doubles, Trevor Stafford/Clayton Branch lost in a tiebreaker to Albert O’Conell/Justin Morris, 2-6, 6-2, 10-6. Jordan Catchings/Jaylin Garrett lost to Trent Huffman/Jared Huffman, 6-0, 6-1.
