Franklinton golf teams win in Northlake Golf League

Franklinton’s boys and girls golf teams had another winning week in the Northlake Golf League, in competition at Franklinton Country Club Tuesday.

In the boys’ event, two squads qualified for team honors. The top four golfers from each squad are used to determine team scores.

Franklinton shot a 365 to win while Lakeshore posted a 441.

The top four golfers this week were from Franklinton and another Demon tied for fifth.

Zach Ginn finished with an 85 to capture individual honors in a field of 15.

He won by four strokes over runner-up Cameron Gatewood, who had an 89.

Franklinton’s Dillen Reeves recorded a 91 for third place and Cort McCullough finished fourth with a 100. There was a tie for fifth place between Franklinton’s Brett Bryant and Lakeshore’s Jacob McCullum at 103.

In the girls’ competition, the top two golfers are used for determining team honors.

Franklinton logged a 236 to win while runner-up Lakeshore combined for a 283.

The top three golfers were from Franklinton.

Faith Chauvin won the event with a 104 with seven golfers competing.

Rayah Spinks tallied a 132 for second place and Hannah Grace Henn recorded a 137 to finish third.

The league returns to action on Wednesday March 23 at Oak Harbor Golf Club, which is located in Slidell.
