Demons top Fontainebleau, Estave homers

Franklinton’s C.J. Estave hit a homer and drove in two runs and the Demons were victorious over Fontainebleau, 10-8, in a home game held Wednesday.
Estave finished with three hits, including the homer to go with a double and the two runs batted in.
Mack McElveen and Collin Dominguez singled twice and drove in a pair of runs each.
Zack Bell posted two singles while Wyatt Verret singled and had an RBI.
Tanner Sandburn singled and Hunter Maxwell along with J.J. Jackson recorded a bunt single each.
Fontainebleau jumped out to a 3-0 lead, but the Demons came back with seven unanswered runs over their first three innings at the plate.
The Demons countered the Bulldogs’ three-run top of the first with three of their own in the bottom of the frame. Franklinton then added three runs in the second and another one in the third to make it 7-3.
The Bulldogs scored twice in the fifth, but again, Franklinton countered with three in its half of the fifth and led 10-5 through five innings.
Fontainebleau scored three runs in the seventh, but could get no closer in the 10-8 final.
These same two teams go back at it this evening at Fontainebleau with the first pitch set for 6 p.m.
