Franklinton tennis falls to Christ Episcopal

COVINGTON — Franklinton’s girls and boys’ tennis teams suffered losses to Christ Episcopal School last Wednesday afternoon at Tchefuncta Country Club.

The girls fell, 3-2.

Ashton Keaton lost to Brooke Powers, 6-0, 6-0.

Abby McNeal won her match in straight sets over Laura Scriabine, 6-3, 6-3.

Switching to doubles, The team of Tijanae Magee/Eman Simmons lost to Maren Davis/Austill May, 6-1, 6-4.

Meredith McCullough/Mackenzie Angelo won a three-set match. They lost the first set in a tie-breaking game 7-4, but came back to win the second set 6-2 and the tie-breaking game in the third set, 10-5.

The group of Ladaija Brumfield/Morgan Mills were defeated in a tightly contested three sets, 2-6, 7-5, 11-9.

The boys’ team lost, 4-1.

Franklinton’s Nathan Ackerman lost to Ben Chandler, 6-0, 6-2, and Clayton Branch lost to Sander McComiskey, 6-3, 6-3.

In doubles, the Demons lost the three matches — one was by forfeit.

The team of Trevor Stafford/Jordan Catchings were defeated by Owen Becker/Sam Muntan, 6-1, 6-0.

Daylin Garrett/Jaylin Garrett lost their match to Ethan Plauche/Van Kumar in straight sets. The first set went to a tie-breaker game that was 7-2 and the second set was 6-4.
