Bowling Green announced Tuesday afternoon that girls varsity and junior varsity basketball coach Charlie Domino has resigned.

“We have appreciated the time coach Charlie spent working with our girls’ basketball program,” Bowling Green principal Beverly Young said. “Our young ladies have learned a lot under his tutelage.”

Young said Domino told her that he was resigning to spend more time with his AAU program and his personal businesses.

“On behalf of BGS, I wish coach Domino great success in his future undertakings and thank him for teaching our young ladies so much about basketball,” Young said.

Domino coached at Bowling Green for just one season. The Lady Buccaneers finished with a record of 35-7. Bowling Green won the District 5AAA Tournament and the South State Tournament.

The Lady Buccaneers finished as runner-up in the Class AAA Tournament and went 1-1 in the overall tournament.
