Pine softball tournament gets underway Friday

Softball fans have a great chance to see several teams competing in the same venue, as Pine High School hosts a softball tournament this week.
The event gets started Friday, as five teams, including three from Washington Parish, are competing in the two-day event.
Two games are scheduled for Friday.
In the opener, Varnado is facing Holden with first pitch set for 4:30 p.m. At 6:30 p.m., Mt. Hermon will take the field, as the Lady Jackets face Pope John Paul II.
On Saturday, fans have an opportunity to see five games.
The action gets going at 8 a.m., as Washington Parish schools Pine and Mt. Hermon face each other.
At 10 a.m., Varnado will play Pope John Paul II. Following that game, Mt. Hermon and Holden will play at noon.
Pine and Varnado take the field at 2 p.m., and the event concludes with Pope John Paul II facing Holden at 4 p.m.
