Pine baseball tournament starts tomorrow

Baseball fans will be heading to Pine during the next few days, as the Pine High School Baseball Tournament gets underway starting Thursday with a doubleheader.
The three-day event features six teams, including four from Washington Parish.
The first game features Varnado taking on Amite, with the first pitch scheduled for 4 p.m. That game is followed by the host school facing Independence at 6:30 p.m.
Friday’s action will be held at Pine and Mt. Hermon.
One game is scheduled for Mt. Hermon, as the Yellow Jackets host Amite at 5:30 p.m.
Over at Pine, fans will be able to see a doubleheader.
The opener is a match up of Washington Parish teams, as Pine faces Varnado in a 2:30 p.m. start. At 5 p.m., Bogalusa will face Independence.
The tournament wraps up Saturday with a tripleheader at Pine.
The action gets underway with a 10 a.m. game between Varnado and Mt. Hermon. At 12:30 p.m., Tangipahoa Parish teams are featured as Independence and Amite battle.
The tournament concludes with a 3 p.m. game between Pine and Bogalusa.
