Lady Bucs win regular season district title

Three Bowling Green School players hit double figures and the Lady Buccaneers came away with a 61-51 win over Adams County Christian School at home Jan. 29.

Ashley Foret scored 19 points on 7-of-13 shooting, as she led the team in points. Foret also made six steals to go with two rebounds and a blocked shot.

McKinley Seal posted 15 points and knocked down all seven of her free throws. She also had five assists, four steals, three rebounds and a blocked shot.

Hollie Waskom totaled 12 points on 4-of-8 from the field and 3-of-3 from the free-throw line, and also added five boards, five steals, three assists and two blocks.

Katelin Junkins posted six points on 3-of-6 shooting to go with three steals and a rebound.

Hallie Robertson logged five points, two rebounds and a steal.

Peyton Stogner and Cailee Fruge recorded two points each. Fruge grabbed two rebounds, dished out an assist and made a steal.

Bowling Green and Ben’s Ford Christian School played in the District 5AAA Tournament this week at Silliman Institute.

Bowling Green, which captured the regular season District 5AAA title, is the No. 1 seed. The Lady Bucs played Friday at 7 p.m.
