BHS competes at track meet

Bogalusa’s track-and-field team headed to Baton Rouge and competed in the LSU High School Classic indoor meet Saturday, Jan. 9 in a large meet.

In the boys, the 4-by-200 relay team finished 22nd, running the event in 1 minute, 45 seconds. The group featured De’Marian Levi, Malon Robertson, Clydeterrious Thompson and Diante Lenoir.

John Curtis won the event in 1:31.

Robertson was 15th for the long jump at 18-11.5.

Lenoir finished 19th in the long jump with a distance of 17-9.25 and he ran the 60-meter hurdles in 10.55 for 29th place.

Catholic of Baton Rouge’s Jace Attuso won the long jump at 22-2.75 and Next Level’s Braxton Canady was the winner for the 60-meter hurdles in 7.88.

Devont’e Lenoir recorded a 15th-place finish in the shot put at 37-9.75 while teammate Daniel Fairley was 22nd with a distance of 32-10.

John Curtis’ Devin Savwoir topped the competition at 53-2.

Dominique Tillman was 17th in the high jump at 5-6. Crowley’s Damon Guidry won the high jump with a height of 6-4.

Javon Tate was 50th during the 60 meters with a time at 7.70. Ruston’s Kemondrick Walter topped the completion at 6.961.

Kentraé Lewis was 57th for the 800. He ran it in 2:31. Curtis’ Keith Devyn was best at 1:58.

In the girls’ events, Bogalusa’s 4-by-200 relay team, which featured D’Angela Clark, De’Erica Myers, Jameka Lucas and Teagan Odom, ran 25th in 2:07. Fast Lane Track Club won the event in 1:44.
