Varnado tops St. Martin’s by 12 points

The Wildcats earned a 62-50 win against visiting St. Martin’s on Tuesday night.

D.J. Jefferson led Varnado (10-3, 2-0 in district) with 22 points. Delrick Abrams scored 17 points and Errol Varnado finished with nine.

Andre Jones scored six points for the Wildcats.

Pine falls at Jewel Sumner

The Pine Raiders took a 50-40 loss to Jewel Sumner on the road Tuesday.

Pine trailed 12-11 after one quarter, and 26-23 at halftime. Jewel Sumner started pulling away in the third quarter, outscoring the Raiders 9-3.

Trey Cooper led Pine with 16 points in the loss. Lowell Pittman added six points.

Jaron Hughes and Ty Galloway added five points each, Kaleb Voth scored four, and Kaz Warren and Kabartis Ginn each added two points.

Bowling Green loses to visiting Oak Forest

The Buccaneers trailed by nine at halftime, but battled back to take a close 34-29 loss to Oak Forest Academy on Tuesday in Franklinton.

Bowling Green trailed 12-6 after one quarter, 22-13 at halftime, and 27-21 after three quarters.

Jordan Barnes led the Buccaneers with nine points. Conner Commeaux added six.

Corbin Garris finished with five points, Jonathon Smith had four points, Reedy Austin scored three and Lane Adams added two.

Adams also led Bowling Green with 10 rebounds.

Bogalusa defeats South Lafourche

The Lumberjacks picked up an 82-68 win against visiting South Lafourche on Wednesday evening.

Bogalusa led 19-7 after one quarter, 41-19 at halftime, and 59-39 after three quarters.

The Lumberjacks improved to 10-7 overall.

Lady Bucs cruise to home win over Oak Forest

Ashley Foret and McKinley Seal each scored a team-high 17 points, leading Bowling Green to a 64-17 home win over Oak Forest on Tuesday.

Bowling Green led 36-14 at halftime. The Lady Bucs’ 47-point margin of victory was also their largest lead of the game.

Katelin Junkins added eight points in the victory. Hallie Robertson finished with six points, Hollie Wascom scored five, and Peyton Stogner and Cailee Fruge added four each. Sydney Watson finished with three points.

Seal led the Lady Bucs with four rebounds. Three players had three rebounds each — Junkins, Stogner and Fruge.

Wascom and Seal each had a team-high five steals.

Varnado routs St. Martin’s in victory

Varnado’s Lady Cats pummeled St. Martin’s 74-21 in a home game Tuesday night.

Varnado outscored its opponent 26-1 in the first quarter, and led 49-11 at halftime.

Tarralyn Moses led the way for the Lady Cats with a team-high 31 points. She also added four rebounds, four assists and five steals.

Tyquasia Adams finished with a double-double, scoring 12 and pulling down a team-high 12 rebounds. She also had an assist and a steal.

Yienna Kemp scored 10 points and had eight rebounds, two assists and three steals.

Quierra Bickham had nine points, three rebounds and a steal; Jaden Foster added four points, five rebounds, one assist and two steals; Brittany Smith had three points and two rebounds; Ty’arria Green added two points, two assists and one rebound; and Ke’arria Bickham finished with eight assists, one rebound and two steals.

Chloe Foster added two points.

South Lafourche tops Lady Jacks

Visiting South Lafourche came away with a 75-35 win at Bogalusa on Wednesday.

The Lady Jacks fell to 9-5.
