Pine goes 2-2, Franklinton 1-3 in Pearl River Tournament

Pine split its four games and Franklinton went 1-3 in the Pearl River Volleyball Tournament, which took place Saturday, Sept. 5.
The tournament matches were the best of three.
Pine’s two wins were against Salmen. The Lady Raiders won the matches, 25-15, 21-25, 15-10 and the other win was a 25-12, 25-21 victory.
The losses were to Franklinton and Pearl River.
The loss to Franklinton was 25-27, 25-20, 15-10. The contest against Pearl River was a 25-4, 25-18 match.
The Demons defeated Pine in the tournament, but lost to Hammond twice, 25-7, 25-18, and 25-22, 25-18. The other loss was to Pearl River, 25-10, 25-23.
In the first match against Hammond, Madison Villere dished out six assists while Lexi Williams had four digs and Destiny Ballard finished with one.
For the second match against Hammond, Ballard and Tamira Bickham posted a kill each.
Against Pine, Ballard and Brittany Jones each had a dig.
In the tournament match against Pearl River, Ballard finished with a dig and Villere added six assists.
In Tuesday’s action, Franklinton lost to Pearl River at home in four games, 25-14, 23-25, 25-12, 25-17.
Williams recorded two digs while Jones and Ashleigh Dunigan both had one. Masey Villere downed five kills to go with four aces and Kaitlyn Bougton finished with three. Also, Ballard added an assist.
Also on Tuesday, Pine lost to Tylertown in four games, 17-25, 25-17, 25-13, 25-21.
Kaitlin Naive served 16 times and posted three aces. MiKayla Swint had a run of seven serves.  Lacie Fletcher finished with six spikes and a block.
