Booker Lott

Booker Thomas Lott, age 87, of Covington died Sunday, July 19, 2015, at Heritage Manor of Mandeville.

He was born May 20, 1928, in Folsom to the late Thomas “Tom” Lott and Anna Silvan Lott. He was a custodian at St. Paul’s High School in Covington and a general laborer and custodian for attorney Roy K. Burns until his health began to fail him. He was of the Baptist faith. Booker loved spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; nine siblings, one son, Larry Donnell Lott; and one grandson, Cory Michael Jackson.

Booker’s life and memories are survived by the mothers of his children, Harriet “Koolee” Bailey of New Orleans and Christine Dorothy Elaine Manning of Covington; one daughter, Marilyn Delores Lott of Bogalusa; five sons, Booker Thomas (Sandra) Bailey of New Orleans, Gregory Lott, Thomas “Tommy” Lott, Jimmy Ray Lott and Bryan Keith Lott, all of Covington; grandchildren, Keith Bryan (Sheree) Shelby- Bailey, Wilbert (Annette) Bailey, Jermaine Bailey, Sandra Marie Bailey, Terrance Jackson, Krystal Jackson, Rodney Derek (Chalaine) Crawford II, La’Nesha Peterson, La’Trell Peterson, Jalik Lott and Gregory Donnell Howard; one sister, Eola Lott of Abita Springs; one brother, Zebedee “Pepper” Lott of Mandeville; great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.

Visitation and the funeral service will be Saturday, July 25, 2015, at Faith Bible Church, 1128 Columbia St., Covington. The visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. The funeral service will start at 2 p.m.

Interment will be at Wilson Cemetery No. 2 in Covington.
