Varnado defeated by Madison Prep

Varnado’s Wildcats had a 14-5 setback to Madison Prep in Thursday’s District 6-1A action, which took place on the road.

Errol Varnado led the Wildcats in hitting, going three for four with a double and three runs batted in.

Xavier Moses was the losing pitcher.

Bogalusa loses twice to Loranger

Bogalusa suffered a pair of losses to Loranger this week in District 8-3A play.

The Lumberjacks were no hit in a 10-0 setback Tuesday on the road.

Thursday’s game was a lot closer.

Bogalusa lost that game by just a run, 6-5, at home.

Loranger led 2-0 after one in a seesaw battle.

Bogalusa responded with three in the second to go up, 3-2.

Loranger answered with two of its own in the third to take a 4-3 lead.

After a scoreless fourth, the clubs tallied a run each in the fifth and sixth before playing a scoreless seventh.

Trevion Harrish went three for four with two runs batted in.

Thomas Turner had three hits and an RBI for the Lumberjacks.

Meechie Baham, Caleb Greely, Elijah Hatcher and Sheylyn Griffin recorded one hit each in the victory.

Harris was the losing pitcher.

Varnado falls to Christian Life

Varnado’s Wildcats suffered a 4-1 loss to Christian Life Academy in a District 8-1A game Tuesday at the Bogalusa Sports Complex.

Isaiah Alexander threw a complete game for the Wildcats, allowing two earned runs while striking out five and walking three.

Jaylan Jefferson recorded a hit and a run batted in while Alexander was one for two with a walk.

Mt. Hermon loses to Pope John Paul II

Mt. Hermon’s Yellow Jackets played Pope John Paul II close for five innings but the Jaguars scored four in the sixth and eight more in the seventh in a 17-2 contest Tuesday at Mt. Hermon.

Mt. Hermon got down 4-0 through 2 1/2 but responded with two in the third to trim it to 4-2.

PJP answered with a run in the fourth to take a 5-2 lead before adding 12 runs over the final two frames to close out the victory.

Clinton Roux, Davin Frazier and Trey Roberts recorded one hit each for Mt. Hermon.

Frazier posted an RBI and scored a run scored.

Devin Smith drove in a run and Chandler Johnson tallied a run.

Dylan Clark was the losing pitcher.
