Pine falls to Northlake Christian School Tuesday and Wednesday

Pine’s Raiders suffered losses to Northlake Christian School Tuesday and Wednesday.

In Tuesday’s game Pine got off to a rough start, which led to a 9-2 loss in a road game that took place in District 8-2A play.

Pine trailed 4-0 after one inning, 5-0 through two and 8-0 after three.

The Raiders scored single runs in the fourth and fifth frames to make it 8-2.

Rion Terrell went two for three for the Raiders.

Pine had five hits. The other three came from Hunter Cooper, Seth Brown and Connor Ard.

Cooper tallied a run, as did Connor Holmes.

Jordan Phelps was the losing pitcher.

Wednesday’s game was a 5-1 setback at home.

Cooper finished with two hits. One of them was a double.

Ethan Knight, Trey Cooper and Phelps all had one hit.

Phelps drove in the run, which was scored by Brown.

The teams were scheduled to play again on Saturday at Northlake Christian School, but that game was pushed up to yesterday.

SOFTBALL

Bogalusa defeats Independence

Bogalusa’s Lady Jacks were victorious over Independence, 27-21, in a District 8-3A road game held Wednesday.

Several players had big games for Bogalusa.

Jazlyn Scott went four for four with four runs scored and three runs batted in.

Jamaya Mingo-Young finished with three hits. She posted three runs and drove in two.

Kierra Smoot tallied a hit in both of her at bats. Smoot scored three runs, drove in two for the Lady Jacks.

Shunte Chatmon went two for three with a triple, two RBIs and two runs scored.

Ally Lavorgna was the winning pitcher.

Franklinton loses to Lakeshore in five innings

Franklinton’s Lady Demons got down, 9-0, after three and lost to Lakeshore, 11-1, in a five-inning game at Lakeshore Tuesday in District 8-4A competition.

FHS played the Lady Titans to a scoreless first but got down 5-0 after two and 9-0 through three.

Franklinton had just three hits.

Haley Sanford went two for two, including a double, with a run scored.

Austen Felder posted a hit while Bethany Sandifer added a run batted in.
