Lady Demons suffer losses in 3 close games

Franklinton’s Lady Demons had three close losses this week.
They lost to Jewel Sumner Tuesday and St. Charles Wednesday by identical 8-5 scores before a 5-4 setback Thursday to Pearl River.
Against Sumner, Baylee Mixon missed hitting for the cycle by only a homer. She went three for four with a single, double and triple while driving in two and scoring once.
Haley Sanford, Carly Shipley, Laken Spears and Austen Felder had one hit each.
Sanford’s hit was a solo home run.
Shipley and Laken Spears both singled and scored.
Felder singled, drove in a run and tallied once.
Katelyn Capo finished with an RBI for the Lady Demons.
Hannah Adams was the losing pitcher.
In the game against St. Charles Catholic, Shipley and Spears tallied two hits each.
Shipley drove in two and scored once while Spears tallied a run.
Mixon, Adams, Sanford and Bethany Sandifer posted a hit each.
Adams drove in a run and scored once while Sanford and Sandifer recorded an RBI each.
Katelyn Capo and Felder scored a run each for the Lady Demons.
Adams was the losing pitcher.
On Thursday, the Lady Demons suffered a 5-4 loss to Pearl River in a District 8-4A home game.
Haley Sanford recorded two hits, including a double, an RBI and a run scored.
Katelyn Capo, Hannah Adams, Carly Shipley, Bethany Sandifer, Laken Spears and Austen Felder posted a hit each. Capo drove in a run.
Sandifer and Felder scored one run each.
Baylee Mixon also tallied a run for FHS.
