Bogalusa nets 6 top 6 finishes at in meet held at Jewel Sumner

Bogalusa’s Lady Jacks recorded six top six finishes at the Cowboy Relays, which were Thursday at host Jewel Sumner.

The Lady Jacks were the only team from Washington Parish competing in the girls’ meet.

De’Zyriah Rankins recorded a fourth and a fifth place finish.

She was fourth in the long jump (15-11.5), and fifth for the 200 (28.50).

West Feliciana’s Dominique Dorsey captured the long jump at 16-6.5.

Port Allen’s Rhenell Lee, who was the outstanding track athlete for the girls, was victorious in the 200 in 26.88.

Jamecca Lucas finished fourth in the 300-meter hurdles (57.18), as West Feliciana’s Raven Davis was the victor in 48.05.

De’Erica Myers also had a fourth-place finish. Her tally was in the 400 (1:07).

Lee was the 400 winner, finishing in 1:00.

Teagan Odom was sixth in the 100 hurdles (22.38). Davis won that event with a time of 17.20.

Also for the Lady Jacks, the 4×200 relay came in fourth place (1:55).

The group consisted of Myers, Lucas, De’Zyriah Rankins and D’Sha Rankins.

The winner was West Feliciana, which ran a 1:46 to capture the event.

Port Allen’s Rhea Lee was selected as the outstanding field athlete for the girls.

Port Allen won a close team competition with 112 points.

Belle Chasse was just nine points behind at 103 for runner up, followed by West Feliciana at 102.5.

Jewel Sumner (78.5) was fourth, and Sumner Middle (40) rounded out the top five, as 10 teams scored at least one point.

Bogalusa (19) tallied a ninth-place finish.
