Franklinton’s Morgan Angelo was unhittable Tuesday night against Salmen in the Demons’ 3-1 victory over the Spartans at home in District 8-4A play.

Angelo was solid throughout the game and threw a no hitter, helping Franklinton capture the victory.

“Morgan has done a great job taking over as the Tuesday starter,” Franklinton coach Jeff Tageant. “We feel very confident when he is on the mound.”

Angelo had the strikeout pitch working to the tune of 14 Ks.

Angelo walked three and hit two.

At the plate, he posted a single.

Salmen took a 1-0 lead in the first. The leadoff hitter reached on an error. That was followed by catcher’s interference, two strikeouts and then an error.

The Demons tied the game, 1-1, in the third, and then went in front for the first time, in the sixth by putting up three runs.

The Demons had a 3-1 lead through six innings of play. Angelo pitched a hitless and scoreless seventh for the victory and the no-hitter.

“It was great seeing how the team would react after getting behind early,” Tageant said. “Morgan did a great job keeping runners off the bases and throwing a lot of

strikes.”

Mack McElveen tripled and drove in a run while C.J. Estave and Jamarian Crain both singled.

Collin Dominguez and Josh Magee both drove in a run for the Demons.

Franklinton entered yesterday with a 13-3 overall record and was 4-0 in league play.
