Franklinton began District 8-4A play by blanking Salmen, 3-0, behind a strong pitching performance from Morgan Angelo on the road Tuesday.
Angelo tossed a complete shutout of two-hit ball. He finished the contest with seven strikeouts and just two walks.
On the offensive side, Angelo posted two hits for the Demons.
Austin Bradford helped Franklinton’s offensive attack, going two for three with a run batted in.
Collin Dominguez posted a hit and an RBI.
Also for the Demons, C.J. Estave finished with a hit.
It was Franklinton’s second consecutive victory.
On Friday night, the Demons rebounded from the 4-2 loss to Fontainebleau Thursday in a big way.
Franklinton downed the Bulldogs at home, 12-2, in a six-inning contest.
Mack McElveen hit his first high school home run, and he did so in grand style. McElveen’s first high school home run was a grand slam in the second inning.
Johnathan Crain had a hit in both of his at-bats and a run batted in.
Josh Magee and Angelo posted a hit and two runs batted in each.
Dominguez had one hit and three runs scored while Jamarian Crain finished with a hit and two runs scored.
Franklinton coach Jeff Tageant said it was a great job of bouncing back from the loss.
“Jamarian Crain had a big base-running play, beating out a force out at third with two outs. This led to a seven-run second inning and eventually Mack’s grand slam,” Tageant said.
