Bogalusa’s Lady Jacks suffered a 99-48 setback to top-seeded University Lab in the bi-district round of the Class 3A state playoffs on the road Thursday.

The 32nd-seeded Lady Jacks trailed, 24-13, after the first quarter, and 43-27 at halftime.

JaMaya Mingo-Young led Bogalusa 25 points.

D’Sha Rankins and Jasmine May tallied eight each while Amia Peters finished with four and Diamond Martin added three.

“The Lady Jacks played hard, but ultimately succumbed to the pressure and depth of University Lab. We went in with a game plan and just fell short. I’m proud of the girls for playing with heart and representing the city of Bogalusa well. We have a very bright future,” Bogalusa coach Kim Carriere said.

Bogalusa finished the 2014-15 campaign with an 11-14 record.

University Lab advances to the regional round of the playoffs and faces Northwest, the 17th-seeded team, on the road. Northwest defeated No. 16 Iowa, 49-46, in overtime.
