Eagles’ season ends in South State Tournament

Ben’s Ford Christian School’s Eagles made it to the South State Tournament but lost their opening-round game to Brookhaven Academy, 61-27, in a contest that took place at Brookhaven.

Bryan Johnson scored 10 points to top Ben’s Ford Christian School.

Destin Pittman finished with six, and Daniel Pittman had five.

Ashton Hines and Jeremiah Slocum posted three each for the Eagles.

Ben’s Ford coach Pittman said his club couldn’t get it going Monday night.

“They beat us in every phase of the game,” Pittman said.

The loss ended Ben’s Ford’s season.

The Eagles had three seniors on this season’s team.

The three included Johnson, Destin Pittman and Josh Moss.

“We are grateful for their contributions to our program. I am thankful to have had the opportunity to coach the three fine young men and wish them the best moving forward,” Pittman said.

Pittman also said that he is grateful to have coached this season and loves all of these young men very much.

“It was a season full of ups and downs, but I wouldn’t trade these guys for anything in the world. I love each of them,” Pittman said

The top four teams from this tournament advance to the Class AA Tournament.
