Bogalusa Sports Association baseball signups
The Bogalusa Sports Association is kicking off its 2015 baseball season, and is inviting children ages four and up to register.
Signups are taking place Feb. 21 and 28.
They run from 8 a.m. to noon both days at the Airport Baseball Complex at 209 Walker St. in Bogalusa
The registration fee is $60.
Each child must take a skills test on one of the two signup days.

Special Olympics
Franklinton High School is holding the 11th annual Special Olympics Development Day Feb. 13 at Demon Stadium.
Opening ceremonies get under way at 11:45 a.m.
The event is being hosted by Franklinton High School’s Beta Club.
More than 90 students from the Westside of the parish are registered to attend and participate in the events.
The participating schools are Franklinton High, Franklinton Primary School, Franklinton Elementary School, Franklinton Junior High, Enon Elementary and Mt. Hermon School.
The event is an opportunity for Special Education students and students with Individualized Education Plans to show their talent in the Olympic-Style Events.
Each athlete has chosen three events, which include softball toss, tennis ball throw, shot put, standing broad jump, 25m walk/run, 50m walk/run, 100m walk/run and 200m walk/run.
Each athlete is accompanied to their chosen event by a Franklinton High School Beta Club Member.
Franklinton High School Beta officers will welcome athletes and visitors by reciting the Special Olympics Motto, “Let me win, but if I cannot win, let me brave in the attempt.”
Opening ceremonies will also include the parade of schools.
Two athletes from each school will present their school’s banner to those in attendance for the event..
The games will get under way after the symbolic torch is lit by local law enforcement.
