Pine Basketball Association Tournament

The deadline to sign up for the Pine Basketball Association Tournament has been extended to Jan. 17. The event takes place Feb. 7 at the old Pine Gym. To be eligible, you must meet one of the three criteria, which includes, having played at Pine High School, have a child playing this year in the Pine Basketball Association or coaching a Pine Basketball Association team this year. Pine Basketball Association Gym Dedication

The Pine Basketball Association is having a Gym Dedication Ceremony Jan. 10 at 9 a.m. There is no cost to attend the ceremony, but youth games begin at 10 a.m. Admission to attend the games $4 for adults and $2 children age 4-up. The event takes place in the Old Pine Gym.

USM Showcase Camp

The USM baseball program will play host to its Winter Showcase Camp Jan. 10 at Pete Taylor Park/Hill Denson Field. Registration begins at 11 a.m., that day, with the clinic running from noon through the completion of the workout. The camp is designed to allow current high school freshman through junior college sophomore (junior college freshman must be academic qualifier) baseball players the chance learn the skills needed to compete at the next level while receiving instruction from current Southern Miss coaches, various junior college coaches and other four-year Institutions. The price is $155 per camper and the cost includes instruction, insurance, and a Southern Miss camp T-shirt. The itinerary will include instruction specific to each participant’s defensive position, improving 60 times and hitting.
