Raiders finish runner-up in 2014 Hannan Hustle Tourney

Pine was edged by Archbishop Hannan, 50-49, in the finals of the 2014 Hannan Hustle Tournament Tuesday evening.
Pine led, 49-48, late in the fourth quarter, but Hannan went in front for good with 12 seconds left on a field goal by Daniel Hollander after accepting a pass from Matt Bennett.
Pine, which went 2-1 in the tournament, missed a 3-pointer. Hannan, which captured all three contests, won its tournament, and Pine was runner-up.
Ty Galloway led Pine by scoring 17 points while knocking five threes.
Hunter Cooper, who had a strong tournament, posted 16 points. Cooper averaged 23.6 points per game in the three contests.
Trey Cooper scored six points for the Raiders. Jamie Adcox finished with four, Jordan Phelps three, Jaron Hughes added two and Kaleb Voth chipped in with one.
Hannan’s Matt Bennett led the Hawks with 12 points, including two 3-pointers, followed by tournament MVP Noah Griffin’s 11.
Hollander recorded 10. Patrick Bossetta put up eight points, which included a pair of threes.
Ross Murray added five, and Nick Daniel tallied four.
Pine posted a 2-1 record in this year’s Hannan Hustle.
Also locally, Mt. Hermon suffered a 67-58 loss to Loranger.
Jessie Pouncey led the Yellow Jackets by registering 24 points. Corterio Williams posted 17 while Joseph Magee logged 12.
Gerald Bunch and Marshaun Dillon added three and two, respectively.
Mt. Hermon posted a 2-1 record for the tournament.
Both teams return to play Jan. 6.
Pine is on the road and faces Jewel Sumner.
Mt. Hermon is also going to be traveling, as the Yellow Jackets head to Springfield.
