Bowling Green struggles in Columbia Academy Tournament

Bowling Green’s boys went 0-2 in the Columbia Academy Tournament, which took place Dec. 27, 29 and 30.

The Buccaneers began by falling, 57-31, to Lamar Christian last Saturday.

Nobody hit the double-figure mark.

K.J. Robertson led the Bucs by putting up nine points, and he pulled down 10 boards.

Spencer Graves posted eight points after hitting four of his five shots. Jared Gambino posted seven while Jace Ball recorded three.

Brady Goings and Dylan Varnado added two each.

The second contest was a 68-55 loss to Sumrall Monday.

Gambino had a solid game, scoring 21 points on seven of 14 from the field. He also made three steals.

Robertson collected 17 points and nine rebounds while Goings posted 10 points and three steals.

Ball, Lane Adams and Bryan Ottinger all tallied two points, and Varnado added one for Bowling Green.

The Buccaneers were in the JP Tournament the last two days.

Bowling Green is back in action Jan. 9, as the Bucs travel to Centreville.
