Mavis Parker

Mavis Duncan Parker, age 90, passed away Dec. 6, 2014, at her residence in Bogalusa.

She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Two sons survive her, Horace Parker (Loretta) of Bogalusa and Keith Parker (Lynette) of White Sands, Miss.; one daughter, Amelia P. LeBlue (Blue) of Bogalusa; grandchildren, Chris Parker (Gwen) and Dawn Lambright (Shay). She has one great-grandchild, one great-great-grandson and six step-granddaughters, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 1/2 years, Exie H. Parker; parents, Hubert and Rena Thomas Duncan; three brothers; and four sisters.

Visitation will be held in the chapel of Brown-McGehee Funeral Home on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation will continue Thursday from 8 a.m. until time for service in the chapel at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Isabel Baptist Church cemetery.

The Rev. Walter Mixon will officiate.
