Demons face Neville Friday
Franklinton’s Demons continued their playoff run Friday night and advanced to the Class 4A state semifinals with a 21-15 victory over Landry/Walker.
The Demons scored the go-ahead touchdown on Renaz Wilson’s 1-yard run with 1:48 remaining in the game, which broke a 15-15 tie.
Third-seeded Franklinton (12-1) goes against second-seeded Neville (11-1) Friday night at 7 p.m., as both teams put their 10-game winning streaks on the line. Neville downed No. 6 Edna Karr, 34-7, last week.
The winner goes for the championship against either top-seeded Plaquemine or fifth-seeded Warren Easton. The Class 4A title game occurs Dec. 13 in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome with kickoff set for 3:30 p.m.
