Walton Alford

Walton Theodore Alford, age 85, was born on Aug. 8, 1929, and passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014, at his residence in Bogalusa.

He was a member and deacon of Westside Emmanuel Baptist Church. He worked as a pipefitter at the paper mill. He worked at the Bogalusa Medical Center in his earlier years.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys Sharp Alford of Bogalusa; three daughters, Cindy (Eddie) Greer of Denham Springs, Teresa (Paul) LeBlanc of Bogalusa and Deborah (Richard) Boleware of Richland, Miss.; one son, Walton Randall (Becky) Alford of Prairieville; one brother, Royce Wayne (Hilda) Alford of Dayton, Texas; and four grandchildren, Alyssa LeBlanc, Blake Boleware, Jacob Alford and Megan Alford.

Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014, from 5:30 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Visitation will continue at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Marcus Rosa officiating. Interment will follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens.
