Bischoff finishes 43rd

Bowling Green’s Daniel Bischoff finished 43rd in the Columbia Academy Caleb Coleman Invitational Cross Country Meet last Tuesday.

Bischoff ran the meet, which featured more than 150 boys, in a time of 20:34.

The boys ran a 5K, which is 3.1 miles.

Jackson Academy’s Curt Knight captured the event in 16:12. Jackson Prep runners Brad Cheek and Alex Russell were second and third respectively, running the race in 16:54 and 17:07.

Laurel Christian’s Robert Danford (17:45) was fourth, followed by Presbyterian Christian’s Matthew Futrell (17:48), Hattiesburg Forerunners’ David Webster (17:51), Tupelo Spartans’ Braden Hardy (17:53), Jackson Prep’s Stuart Grady (18:05), Hattiesburg Forerunners’ Conner Griffith (18:12) and Tupelo Spartans’ Seth Hardy (18:14), rounding out the top 10.

Jackson Prep won the team event with 64 points, edging out Tupelo by just two points. The host school was third with 84 points, while Presbyterian Christian was six back and Hattiesburg had 101.

The girls ran a two-mile race in a field of more than 125 runners.

Hattiesburg Forerunners’ Sarah Reeves won the event in 12:26 by just four seconds over Tupelo Spartans’ Julie Johnson. Hattiesburg Forerunners’ Leah Johnson was third at 12:35, four seconds in front of Tupelo Spartans’ Elle Hamilton.

Jackson Prep’s Kennedy Galloway (12:43) was fifth, followed by Presbyterian Christian’s Ramsey Stayer (12:49), Hat-tiesburg Forerunners’ Abby Mills, Silliman Institute’s Kayla McNabb (13:06), Presbyterian Christian’s Margaret Campbell (13:10) and Columbia Academy’s Katie Price (13:15), rounding out the top 10.

The Hattiesburg Forerunners won the team portion of the race with 40 points, as they beat runner-up Presbyterian Christian by 17. The Tupelo Spartans (65) were third, Jackson Prep (122) finished fourth and Silliman (148) rounded out the top five.
