Bowling Green falls to Centreville

Bowling Green suffered a 48-7 loss to Centreville in Friday’s District 6AA contest at Centreville.
The Fighting Tigers (7-0, 3-0), ranked No. 1 by Southern Sports & Travel, put up the game’s first 42 points.
The Bucs (1-6, 0-2) got on the board when Jace Ball scored on a 39-yard run.
That made it 42-7 after Brady Goings was good on the extra point.
Centreville capped off the scoring by returning the ensuing kickoff for six, making the final score 48-7.
The Tigers returned both kickoffs by Bowling Green for touchdowns. The first one was to begin the third quarter, and then the other being after the touchdown.
Grant Alexander ran 13 times for 34 yards for the Buccaneers.
Brock Faust recorded six tackles, while Hayden Thompson finished with five stops.
The Bucs had a tough matchup, facing a team with 18 seniors while missing several starters.
Centreville was the Class AA runner-up last season.
Bowling Green is back in action Friday and completes the road portion of its regular season schedule but stays in Washinton Parish as it goes against Ben’s Ford Christian School.
After a bye week, the Bucs host Central Private Oct. 24 to finish off the regular season.
