Franklinton’s C.J. Estave was part of the Hammond Yankees 18U team, which captured last weekend’s Southeast Showcase event, which took place at Tulane University and Northshore High School.

Estave played in two of the four games.

He didn’t record a hit, but did draw a walk.

Yankees coach Andrew Hickman said he was solid behind the plate, blocking pitches and handling the pitching staff.

Hickman said Estave threw out two would-be base stealers.

The Yankees captured their first two contests with a 5-0 shutout win over the Warriors.

They followed up by defeating the Knights 6-1.

The only loss was against C2 1-0. Following the loss, they rebounded to blank United 3-0.
