NOLA Rockies split games against Fontainebleau

The NOLA Rockies 15/16U team split games this weekend against Fontainebleau, winning 4-0 and losing 6-4 at Mandeville High Saturday.

Ben’s Ford Christian School’s Garrett Pounds plays for the Rockies and did well.

Pounds went 2-for-4 at the plate. He also pitched in the 6-4 contest. Pounds allowed just one run on two hits with three strikeouts and two walks over four innings. Pounds picked up the no decision after leaving the game with the lead.

Stix split their four games

Stix Baseball Academy went 2-2 this weekend at the Southwest Shootout at McNeese State in Lake Charles.

The club lost its first game 3-0 to the Halos Friday before capturing both contests Saturday 3-2 over Mizuno and 10-4 against Team Louisiana.

Their final game Sunday was a 5-4 setback to the Gulf Coast Senators.

Franklinton’s Morgan Angelo recorded four hits, one in each game to go with two runs batted in and two runs scored.
