FIELDS

Arcel Fields, 63, departed this life Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, at LSU Bogalusa Medical Center.

He was born in Bogalusa on June 29, 1950, the fourth child union of Robert “Bob” Fields and Inez Nathaniel Fields. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending quality time with his family.

He leaves to cherish his memories four sisters, Minister Betty J. Fields and Alicia F. (Joel) Fields, both of Bogalusa, Eleanor K. (Steve) Banks of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Velma R. Meredith of Baton Rouge; two brothers, Joe N. Fields of Fort Worth, Texas, and Melvin (Shelly) Fields of Bogalusa; one aunt, Louvenia Nathaniel Gage of Houston; a special devoted niece, H. Inez Weary (Teenie); a sister-in-law, Cora Fields; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, his twin, Marcel Fields, Barbara Ann Fields and Mary Louise F. Foster; and one brother, Robert Lionel Fields.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Dec. 14 at Greater Salter Chapel AME Church from noon until time for the funeral service at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Earl B. Robinson Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Bogalusa Cemetery.
