ALEXANDER

Claudine Alice Miller Alexander, 78, died Tuesday morning, Aug. 20, 2013, at her home in Bogalusa.

Born March 22, 1935, she was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, also an Eastern Star Past Worthy Matron of the 14th District. She was involved in scouting in many areas, including den mother and pack mother to the Boy Scouts and Explorers. She was awarded the Distinguished Service Award “Silver Beaver.” In addition, she was a YWCA board member and a member of the Bogalusa Sports Association. She assisted with the Blue Birds and Rainbow Girls and was a Campfire board member.

She is survived by a daughter, Kim Miller of Bogalusa; three sons and daughters-in-law, Andrew (Brenda), John (Lisa) and Jody Deborah), all of Bogalusa; and two grandchildren, Jeb McMillan Miller and Nicolas Jasper Miller.

Her husband, Dudley Joe Miller, and her parents John and Euna Bennett preceded her in death.

Visitation will be held Friday, Aug. 23 at Brown-McGehee Funeral from 10 a.m. until time for services in the chapel at 2 p.m. An Eastern Star Service will be conducted at noon. Burial will follow in Hillview Memorial Gardens. Rev. Tom Patterson will officiate.

A dinner will be provided following the burial at Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
