Angie resident Emily Hartzog was recently awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the CHS Foundation, the major giving entity of CHS Inc., which is the nation’s leading farmer-owned cooperative and a global energy, grains and foods company.
Hartzog will study secondary agricultural education at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston and is one of 75 students receiving a CHS $1,000 scholarship.
“The CHS Foundation is proud to help build the next generation of leaders in production, science, technology and the business of agriculture,” said CHS Foundation President William Nelson, who is also vice president of CHS Corporate Citizenship.
“We believe these promising students have the potential to play an important role in the future of agriculture.”
An independent, external committee selected recipients based on essays, transcripts and reference letters.
