Jaslyn Tate of Franklinton High School recently competed in the Hammond Regional Youth Art Competition. She was one of the Top 10 finalists and winner of Prepared Art, receiving a $500 scholarship. Tate also competed in on-site sketching, where she also placed first and received a $50 cash award. Not only did she take first in both categories, but she was the People’s Choice winner as well. The People’s Choice Award was determined by the number of votes made through monetary donations at the event.
