Bowling Green’s long jumper advances to state

Bowling Green’s Patrick Roublow qualified for the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools State Field Meet in Wednesday’s South 2A South State Meet, which took place at Silliman Institute in Clinton.
Roublow advanced in the long jump and captured the top spot, going 20-3.75. He won the event by just 0.25 over Adams County Christian School’s Trey Fleming.
The top four finishers from each event qualified for the state field meet, which is Friday at Jackson Academy.
Wednesday’s meet was field only. The track portion occurred yesterday after press time.
Trinity’s Dre McCoy won the high jump (6-2), while Centreville’s Austen Addington topped the pole vault (12-0).
Wayne Academy’s Garrick Malone won the triple jump (38-4.5).
Centreville’s Edward DeLee bested the shot put (47-6.5) with teammate Mike Keith topping the discus (145-2).
In the girls’ competition, Adams’ Nikki Wor-they won the high jump (5-0), while the host school’s Addie Roberts topped the long jump (15-10.75).
Oak Forest’s Delaney Phillips won the triple jump (29-7) with Columbia Academy’s Dianna Hobgood taking the shot put (33-1.5) and Adams’ Ashleigh Williams grabbing the discus (98-3).
